So you’ve decided to QUIT SMOKING. Maybe this is your first attempt, but more likely, you have tried many times and been unsuccessful. You are willing to try anything to help you become a Non–Smoker.
For most people, the absolute worst way to try to kick the smoking habit is through the use of willpower. Like moods and emotions, willpower fluctuates. One "down day" and willpower fades, making you feel like you have failed. This method is generally neither consistent nor effective.
There are countless methods on the market to deal with this bad habit, including the nicotine patch, pills, chewing gums, self-help CDs and books, and other smoking cessation programs. Many are designed to help build up the personal power to resist or overcome the addiction. Psychologically, this is a much more agreeable position.

You should not replace smoking with eating as so often happens to people. Replacement behaviors are designed to be healthy and to avoid weight gain.
